Confirming Usability of INVU For NST at Home

This summary is based on a peer-reviewed article published in 2023 in the American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology.

The article, “Utilization of a wireless monitoring device to perform nonstress tests in high-risk pregnancies from home”, authored by Rebecca F. Hamm et al., addresses the burden associated with serial in-office nonstress tests (NSTs) in high-risk pregnancies, which may contribute to increased care burden and healthcare disparities.

The study evaluates INVU, a FDA cleared, remote, self-administered maternal–fetal monitoring solution developed by Nuvo.

INVU has been previously validated for the measurement of fetal heart rate, maternal heart rate, and uterine activity.

The objective of this work was to assess the clinical interpretability and usability of the INVU system to enable patients to perform NSTs from home.
